In my opinion, HRD is a much better value than other paid radio control programs such as the N4PY application since you only have to purchase one license for ALL radios and the license key is not dependent on the individual computer it is installed on. What other programs like N4PY do not offer with their.

Hi all thanks for all your replies. Registry import worked fine. I just wanted to keep that as the last option but i couldnt figure out any other method.

Installing the application for each individual isnt possible in this case since everyone needs to be given admin privileges. Thanks again for all your help. Its just amazing how quick people respond to queries.Original Message- I remember there was some contention about the license applying to the box or the user. Technically, the license belongs to the user, so it is installed for that user. If you check with your account representative, and they OK with Customer Support that there are licenses to cover all the users there are, there are workarounds for this type of installation they will supply to you. We installed Brio Designer 8.3.2 on one of our workstations. Everything went seemingly normal, but when I tried to open the designer exe, I'm given a message saying 'without a serial number you will be unable to use this product. Please contact an administrator'.

This is weird, because we HAVE the serial number, but when the program was being installed, the only thing we had to enter was the license key (which we did, correctly), and there was no mention of a serial number. Does anyone have any idea what's going on? Does Designer expect us to update some config file after the installation or something? Thanks, Dave. The guy who did the install is currently looking into that. To install it under the user we want, we have to give admin rights. We don'= t want the user to have admin rights, so they have to be taken away once the program is installed. This is sounding like a recipe for a mess. HPS 8.3.x will prompt for a seria= l number if you installed it as a different user than the one your logged o= n with. Each user that logs onto the workstation needs a license. Dave, Designer is installed only for single user license. It can be worked out in following way, Export the Hyperion registry information from the user when you install the designer. Import the Hyperion registry information for the user (if it is different From above) when you want to execute the designer. You have to perform this exercise as many times if you want to use the same machine from different user id's. Hope it works.
