If your issue remains, always post the following info: - Exact title of the disc - EAN. reference number of the disc (series of number below the barcode on the box of the disc) - Model Number of your device - SW version installed on your device - Exact problem faced (e.g. Freezes on the menu, freezes at a certain time, picture cuts, etc). How to find the EAN reference number of a disc? 583 Once we have the EAN reference number, we will order the disc accordingly so that we are able to do some extended tests to see if we can reproduce the issue.
Please keep in mind that these test will take some weeks, from ordering date to the actual testing. Thanks for your help. Bought yet another Philips blu-ray player, the BDP 3200/12 (GS model, latest 1.67 software) after discovering small picture stutter problems with certain blu-ray discs (see below) on my previous BDP 2850/12 (latest/only software), but to my surprise, my new BDP 3200/12 suffers from exactly the same problem.with the same discs. Disc 1 is the WALKING DEAD with ean number 5-90 Disc 2 is a danish movie VED VERDENS ENDE with the ean number 5-50 (available on Amazon.co.uk) Sound is fine, and the choppy playback is not that apparent.more like watching content streamed from the internet. It seems like the players are skipping a frame once every second or two. Tried every possible format and picture setting (incl.
24fr on/off), but nothing helps. Discs playback fine on another Samsung player, and both the BDP2850 and the BDP 3200 generally delivers a fine picture from other discs.

Any ideas or firmware on the way? Got the same movie today Walking dead and discover the same problem. Same in our other Philipsplayer. First Alien Anthology then Harry Potter (posted in another thread and no respons) and now this movie. I have borrowed a panasonic player from the store and all 3 films are working fine on that player.(alien, Harry Potter and Walking dead). I think i have to change playermodel soon if this continue.

Swedish version EAN: 7 61 Latest firmware for BDP3000/12 KX1B BDP2800/12x2 (kids player) Hi there, Peson.
Nice to see a fellow Scandinavian:-) So Alien Anthology is also affected? I have that one as well, and will check. I'm also wondering why there have been no response from anybody from Philips yet. I think there is a missunderstanding.
None of the Philips player i tested was working with Harry Potter. I didnt test any other film in the store. I have borrow a Panasonic BDT110 for a few days, from the store today and all of the film is working perfect, also Walking dead. Running very smothly. Regarding Alien Anthology, theres is no problem with framedrops like the two other films. When you start this movie (dir cut) the screen is zoomed up, and you just have a little picture in the corner.
The workaround is to go back to the main menu and start the movie from a chapter 1. Same poblem was occure on Oppo-players but they released a firmware realy fast. Here we go again. Now Star Wars Saga Disc/Movie 5 & 6. (1-4 is working fine) Want start.
Just a black screen and only 'play' in the display. After 5-10min waiting i have to take the powercable out because the player didnt answer my command. Starting the player up again and the film is working. Same with film nr.6 when i changed the disc. Freezes and then unplugged the machine. I have seen other reports in this forum about this Movie and the same problem. Working fine in my Panasonic BD.

To Philips - please provide new software quisckly or the device goes back. That s not good. Anyone in Brazil experience the same? My BDP8000 is the Brazilian (Device: BDP8000/78 SW version: V1.60). Watching Harry Potter 7.2, the same thing happened to me too. In certain scenes in the film is a 'delay' or 'jump' in the image.
I changed the default setting for the player and the problem persisted. I thought the problem was the disc that is American (UPC: 86), however, by placing the disc, this time the Brazilian (EAN 442), the problem still exists. It is the first time it happened. No problem with other movies. Title Blu-ray disc: Star Wars The Complete Saga EAN: 53 Device: BDP7500/12 SW version: V1.02 Hi, I just bought my first Blu-Ray player this Christmas for the family - a Philips BDP7500BL/05 - and a set of Blu-Rays (Stars Wars Complete Saga, Star Wars Clone Wars, Harry Potter Collection and the Cars & Cars 2 box set). We had no problems with Cars, but intermittent problems with Cars 2 ( stopped a couple of times and we had to take out the disk and start again). We just tried to watch Star Wars Phantom Menace and the disk doesn't load - just a blank screen.
After several minutes there is still nothing and I have to turn off the player to get it to eject the disk. I've tried all 9 disks from the set and none of them load. Looking at this forum, there seems to be some problem with the Philips players and the star wars disks. I've checked the firmware and tried the network update and the device tells me I have the latest version - v1.02 - i haven't tried the USB option yet. I've also reset the unit and it still has the same problem.
Cars 1 and Clone Wars plays fine, as does Harry Potter 3. Is there a fix for this? Or a customised set of disks? Or should I get a different blu-ray player? Edit 1: I should add that all the disk and the player were bought in the UK through Zavvi.com and Pixmania.com Edit 2: I found the firmware update to v1.10 on the support page and have applied that upgrade via USB, so the player now shows software version 1.10. I still get the same problem - just a blank screen, sometimes with a big play symbol and sometimes with the warning text about blu-ray playback but nothing else - it just freezes & then I have to pull the power, restart and eject the disc. I have the BDP3280/12 blue ray player, which sometimes hangs shortly after starting a movie from the 'Star Wars - The complete Saga' blue ray collection.
EAN: 084 It hangs in the movie (so after reaching the menu, selecting to play the movie). I then have to pull the power cord, as the player does neither react to remote control, nor the keys on the device. After this cold boot I can play the movie without a problem, so it does not hang at the same position again. So far this happened on Episode 2 and Episode 4 disk. There seems to be no newer firmware available. Model Number: BDP3280/12, SN: GS1A I do not have an USB stick plugged in into the player.

I have same problem with the Harry Potter Deathly Hallows part 2 Disc 2 (Special Features disc), I was indicated this problem in a previous post at 24th of november 2011. When can we expect the new firmware release for bdp5180/12, what is solve this problem? Hi, I'm a new member of the forum (just registered now). I have bough 2 BDP 3000 (I have a city and beach houses) and I have lots of disks that both players dont read.
The last one I have issues with, is the special edition of BEN-HUR. The disk with first part of the movie plays nicely, but the disc with the second part of of the movie and the disc with the documentaries simpli dont load. Discs with the movies SKY CAPTAIN, DAY OF THE DEAD, SLEEPY HOLLOW, TEARS OF THE SUN, and many others, simply dont play at all. However they all play withou problems in my PS3. Later I can give a complete list of discs with EAN codes, if necessary. Thanks for commentaries.
Same problem as previous posters. Game of Thrones- The Complete First Season EAN - won't play on my BDP3000/05 with latest firmware- 1142.1 Most of the time it goes back to the 'Play disc' menu, at other times it hangs and requires the power to be switched off although the player responds to a couple of buttons on the remote- HDMI changes HDMI output, but other buttons (such as 'Top Menu' flash up the crossed out circle icon and nothing else). Very occasionally the disc plays!! Think it's about time you got your act together with a firmware upgrade. GAME OF THRONES - Season One Episodes 3-5 EAN - Don't know because Love Film have a sticker over the middle. DEVICE - BDP3000 FIRMWARE - 1142.1 Problem: After inserting the discs - black screen.
Device says 'Play'. Nothing happens. Have to hard reboot to restore any form of service and cycle happens again. I notice that this is quite a common problem. I can't believe Philips haven't been able to fix it yet. Slow, horrendous process to get help.
Think I'll give up and play it through my laptop Blu-ray. Same problem with disk two. Did not try the others. When I try the software upgrade it tells me there is new software available, but offers the same version that is currently installed. Edit; EAN incorrect.
Hi, I have the same issues as many other people here: Model: BDP3100/12 SW Version: 1.42 Title: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (special features disc) EAN: 073 Problem: Error message: unknown disc Title: The Lion King EAN: 076 Problem: movie freezes almost every 10 seconds We also have a problem with the Star Wars Blu-Ray (don’t have the EAN code right now): during the beginning, it constantly freezes. I would love to see the extra's from Harry Potter, so an upgrade would be welcome:) I noticed there were some firmware upgrades for other models, fixing the Harry Potter problem. Has anyone got an idea when it will be available for the BDP3100 series? I just upgraded my firmware, but the problems were still there. Thanks in advance! Results in a black screen with no sound or images Restarting the player will usually fix this, sometimes the remote becomes non-response and the power button on the front of the player needs to be pressed Have also had two other issues occur with the same EAN, when initially powering up the player, sometimes the disc fails to load and the player needs to be reset. When the player is resuming from power saving mode (after leaving the player idle for a while) sometimes the player will not resume and needs to be re-powered. It is such an expensive package!!!! After 2 years of use i found out that my BD8000/12 does not play my new Harry Potter - Philosopher's Stone Ultimate Edition, it freezes at two places, for 5 seconds, skipping some lines, and then it continues again. I have model BD8000/12 Harry Potter Ultimate Wizard's Collection, disc 1 Philosopher's Stone.this is a 31 discs box set. My BD8000/12 had version 1.53, and there is my other problem, my player said there were no updates, now i browsed this site and found version 1.63, i have updated my player but still the disc freezes.

Version: V1.75, Zip file, 160.36 MB, Date published: 2012-10-15 installed. I bought the Philips Blu-ray BDP7500S2/12 in december 2010 and have been very content with it until recently, when it started to have problems with some new discs/movies.
It says 'unknown disc' and refuses to play the movie. In the beginning the problem solved itself when after a few tries it would accept the disc/movie in question. However one of last Blu-rays I bought 'Battleship', was completely refused.
To eliminate the possibility that I had a bad copy I exchanged itat the store, but this didn't solve the problem. It still refused this movie. This problem only displays itself with a few particular blu-rays and not with DVD's. I don't have any problems with my older movies as well as other new discs/movies/ My technical information: Blu-ray player: philips BDP7500S2/12 Firmware version: 1.63 Titel 1: Battleship EAN: 43 Titel 2: We Bought A Zoo EAN: 043 Titel 3: Elizabeth EAN: 949. Hi Some 3D discs do not play correctly on this player.
Namely: Prometheus, Drive Angry, Green Hornet, Rio, Gulliver's Travels, Narnia Voyage of the Dawn Treader. They play as if the left and right fields are out of sync. I have posted this previously on another thread to which many other people have the same problem. I received an email from Phillips back in October asking for the EAN codes of the discs which I supplied.but then nothing. And then on checking the thread this morning it has been 'closed' without anything been advised as to whether the problem can be fixed with a firmware update or in fact any information at all.
After care really is lacking. I was recommended posting in this forum.
So here goes again! Prometheus (EAN 5-078) Gulliver's Travels (EAN 8-730) Drive Angry (EAN 5-001) The Green Hornet (EAN 4-038) Model: BDP5200/12 Firmware: 1.61 Regards Darin. It looked as if the left and right eye were out of sync. When I paused the movie and first looked with my left eye and than with my right eye it was clear that there was a mismatche in frames for the left and right eye. Firmware 1.55 fixed the problem. Last september I installed ver 1.61. So my BDP5200/12 has the latest firmware. Last weekend I tried to watch Ice age 3 3D again and I was very surprised that what you say that ver.1.61 solved, was back again. What happend here Philips??
Ver 1.55 releasenotes don't mention improving playback of Ice age 3 3d but it solves the playback malfuntion! Ver 1.61 releasenotes mention 'playability improvement of ice age 3d' but it brings back the problems!!! The EAN code of the disc is: 047 Please bring back firmware 1.55!! The rest of discs play fine even for my other disc Wolverine and X-men last stand (2 other movies not in this package but also from Fox) Suspect firmware issue. Well Here goes posting in yet another thread for the fourth time.
Model: BDP5200/12 Firmware: 1.61 Some 3D discs do not play correctly on this player. Namely: Prometheus, Drive Angry, Green Hornet, Rio, Gulliver's Travels, Narnia Voyage of the Dawn Treader. They play as if the left and right fields are out of sync. Prometheus (EAN 5-078), Gulliver's Travels (EAN 8-730), Drive Angry (EAN 5-001), The Green Hornet (EAN 4-038). I have posted this previously on various threads which I was advised to when I got no answer.
I eventually received an email from Phillips back in October asking for the EAN codes of the discs which I supplied.but then nothing. Eventually the threads that have been posted are 'closed' and nothing is ever done. This has to be the worst customer service I have experienced. Obviously the goods are not 'fit for purpose' under the Trade Descriptions Act and Consumer Goods Act.
I have now been advised to post in this thread.so let's see! I do agree with drodgers, although i received an answer from Marcus, it would be customer service when replies were given to the posters!!! Ie, we are working on the matter: we have resolved problems with. Still working on. As i mentioned before thread goes back to 2011, but unfortunately so does my latest software update.
I did not purchase Philips for a life time of 1-2 years. Plse i understand you want to sell new machines, but do not forget your customers who bought Philips in the past 10 years.
Having problems with Breaking Bad Season 3 (only disc 2-4) disc 1 Works fine. Film: Breaking Bad The Complete Third Season EAN: 012 Model HTB9550D/12 SW: 1.09.01 The discs (2-4) loads fine and the disc own menu also loads fine, after language and subtitle selection and episodes selection the warnings starts, but after 9-12 sec the system freezes completely and the standby bottom is only thing working. This happens on disc 2-4.
Not a single episode on the discs 2-4 starts. I've got the disc replaced once and it's still the same. Have also tried playing the disc on my PC and another brand of DVD player and they Works fine. Hello Philips, 149 reports now on this item, sadly enough not many from Philips indicating that a solution is near. My hts 7520 still does not play the latest blu rays and no update is available.
The machine is only three years old, support should run for at least 5 years. I cannot imagine that peaple buy a new set every year.
We all choose for philips since we knew it as a top brand, good quality etc this way we cann all choose cheap brands and exchange every two years!!!! Plse reply to the thread. Film: Titanic 3D blu-ray EAN: Unknown - Love film rental Model BDP5180/12 SW: 1.62 This seems a common problem from reading on other forums. When the player is connected to the internet the disc spools, then shows 'unknown disc error'. If I get this error then I unplug the player from the internet and 'upgrade' the firmware to the exact same version that I am already running, I can watch the film if disconnected to the internet. As soon as I connect the ethernet lead again the problem re-appears.
Titanic is not the only film that has this issue, and from a cursory google search it appears that I am not the only customer who has experinced this fault (although it does appear that I am the only one to find a workaround). If I never connect the player to the internet then the problem never comes back, it is only after I connect via ethernet. It seems to me that there is a firmware issue going on that probably needs addressing. My disc problem is well known and there are many devices, which had problems with the disc. Player model: BDP 5200/12 Firmware: 1.67 DISC EAN: 028 (German) Movie: Total Recall (2012) Extended Directors Cut I have the already known issues with the sound dropouts.
It starts after about 12 minutes and repeats very often in this movie. Sometimes the sound breaks for a full minute and then runs asynchronous. I got a replacement from SONY, but this second disk has the same issues. A workaround helped me the first time: When I changed the sound output from BITSTREAM to PCM the sound works properly. But it gets downsampled so bad. I don't want to use this workaround anymore.
This disk has the 'Cinema' version and the 'Extended Cut' on it. I also changed the HDMI cables but it didn't help. Hope you can fix the issue with a SW update. Finally it is 2014, happy new year everybody.! This topic now runs for more than one year and still no update for my HTS homecinema system.
This year i will try other ways of convincing Philips, to listen to their customers and treat them as such. Hundreds of Blurays have been mentioned in this topic (Philips asked us to use this topic), but no real action from Philips. Lets find out if twitter and facebook are the media that Philips will listen to.this topic seemt rather useless i am disappointed and reading all 155 messages, i have not found one positive reaction so sad, Samsung and Sony makes things better, now we wait for Philips! This thread is useless. Those models are not that old but Philips seems to have abandoned any support. Hi everybody, i am back again, still with the same problems no firmware upgrade.
I checked all my Philips machines: HTS 7520 sound cinema, my TV 42PFL5405H and my mediaplayer HMP 3000 all bought ca 2011 because this time i wanted a good well known brand, and not my Lidl or Aldi, medion machines with 3 years guarantuee and pick up service. No no no this time more money spend on Philips. What a disappointment, the update on firmware will only follow 1 yaer and then it is finito, no more backup look at this topic last for two years now, all good people indicating BD that do not play result.NOTHING Samsung apparently backs new models up with min 4 years firmware upgrades. EDIT Just read elsewhere about turning BD-Live (or whatever it is called) I couldn't find how to do this but I did take the player off my network so it had no internet access, internet never seemed to work anyway as I had to manually update the device. After leaving it for a couple of minutes, the disk started playing. Wondering if it was due to the player trying to connect to the web for features or something similar. All of them have been 20th Century Fox. My suspicion is a) the copy protection used by 20th Century Fox messes up the disc so it cannot be recognized by the player and b) Philips is not going to update the firmware for this player. I can say for sure these were the last discs I have bought from 20th Century Fox. I mean, I BUY them and still I have to live with all the annoying effects of copy protection like long threatening sequences before I can even watch the movie that they take my money for - IF I'm able to play it at all.
Regarding Philips, I think it is sad - in this environmental aware time - that I'm probably going to have to replace an otherwise well-functioning player because Philips cannot be bothered with creating an updated firmware. Fortunately this is the first disc in 6 years that doesn't play with me, but I'm not sure that will stay this way.
